Lickenbrock Qualifies for National Championships
         JOPLIN, MO. - Southern Illinois University Edwardsville men's golfer Kyle Lickenbrock (Freeburg) shot a final round 67 Wednesday and has qualified for a spot at the NCAA Division II Championship finals.
         Lickenbrock finished five under par Wednesday, the best round of the tournament, and completed the 54-hole championship with a nine-under-par 207. He has qualified for the NCAA Championship finals at The Meadows in Allendale, Mich., on May 22-25 as the individual with the lowest score not among the top two teams.
         Lickenbrock's 67 also tied the school record for the lowest round in the postseason. Former Cougar Chuck Eckley shot a 67 on a par 71 Avalon Golf Course in Warren, Ohio, at the 1980 NCAA Championships. Wednesday's round for Lickenbrock was at the 6,842-yard, par 72 course at Twins Hills Golf and Country Club.
         Jeff Carlson, of Ferris State, won the tournament at 10 under par. He helped the Bulldogs advance as a team with a 54-hole team total of 864. Indianapolis took the other team spot at the regional tournament with a team total of 881.
