Cougars Blank Owls
         Christina Stremlau scored two goals to lead Southern Illinois University Edwardville to a 5-0 shutout of William Woods in non-conference women's soccer on Wednesday night.
         SIUE improved 7-3 overall gaining the victory. The Owls dropped to 4-6 on the seaosn.
         Ann Crawford scored her team leading seventh goal of the year while picking up two assists to lead the Cougars to a 3-0 halftime lead. Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week Christine Armstrong added a goal in the first half her fourth of the season.
         Junior Liz Fleer picked up her first goal of the year at the 68:35 mark of the second half to finish off SIUE's scoring.
         Goalkeepers Jessica Brown and Kim Roady combinded for the shutout by making five saves. The Cougars are now tied for first in the GLVC in team shutouts with six. Katie Yearian and Lindsay Andre both recorded assists for SIUE, who won for the sixth straight time. The Cougars have outscored their opponents 19-1 in those last six contests.
         William Woods was led by goalkeeper Kristen Antle, who made eight saves in the loss.
         SIUE will go on the road to face Wisconsin Parkside on Friday at 3:30 p.m., following that up with a contest at St. Joseph's on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
