Cougars Fall in GLVC Title Game
         WILDER, Ky. - Northern Kentucky used its home field advantage Sunday and captured the Great Lakes Valley Conference women's soccer championship over Southern Illinois University Edwardsville 2-0.
         SIUE, 17-5, outshot Northern Kentucky 9-5 but couldn't find the back of the net. Jenny Kates led SIUE with three shots. Elizabeth Valenti, Kristine Armstrong and Amy Million each had two shots.
         The Cougars will await word on a possible NCAA Tournament bid. Four teams from the Great Lakes Region are named to the 32-team national bracket. SIUE has not made an NCAA Tournament appearance since 1998 and has made the field three previous times total (1993 and 1996).
         Northern Kentucky, 18-2, expects to be the hosts institution for the NCAA Regional after collecting its sixth GLVC champioinship in the last eight seasons. The Norse used goals by Jayme Light and Alex Armstrong to power past the Cougars on Sunday.
