November 5, 2008 SIUE's Backs Named Academic All-District            EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - Kaci Backs (Greenville), the starting goalkeeper for the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville women's soccer team, has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District second team in the University Division.            Backs helped SIUE to a 5-8 record in its first year against NCAA Division I competition under Coach Derek Burton. Backs finished her senior season with a 1.30 goals against average, three shutouts and 38 saves.            In four years as a Cougar, Backs collected 185 saves, which is No. 3 all-time at SIUE. He career goals against average is 1.13.            Backs is a mechanical engineering major. To qualify for nomination for the award, a student-athlete must hold a grade point average of 3.30 or better and be a major contributor to the team.                     -siue cougars-
