Overview
The Department of Educational Leadership offers a program of study leading to the education specialist (Ed.S.) degree. The program is designed for experienced P-12 school administrators who wish to pursue advanced study beyond the master’s degree. Successful candidates receive the Ed.S. and Illinois Superintendent endorsement.

Teacher certification: Superintendent endorsement on an existing Type 75 certificate
Program Description
The Ed.S. program provides advanced education for practicing P-12 school administrators who aspire to become superintendents or district-level leaders. The Ed.S. curriculum forms the foundation of coursework for the Education Doctorate (Ed.D.); however, post-master’s students who seek the Ed.D. as their terminal degree should apply directly to the
Ed.D. program.
